On Wednesday, July 11th at 6:30 PM, Act Natural Health & Wellness store in Torrington, Connecticut is hosting a “Walk/Run For Your Life” and “Food is Mood” potluck to observe World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day.
Governor Malloy has signed a Proclamation designating July 11th as World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day. State Representative Michelle Cook will arrive at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 to deliver the proclamation. The “As Prescribed” documentary will be on location filming the event.

Participants will walk or run a half-mile course that begins and ends at Act Natural Health & Wellness, 24 Water Street. A potluck will be served in the store after the event for all participants who participated in bringing a dish to share. If you would like to participate in the potluck, the store has designated a food list of specific items they are accepting (no corn, gluten, soy, canola oil, nuts, caffeine, refined sugar or animal products):

Some objectives of Act Natural Health & Wellness’ event include:
- Education and awareness
- Providing victims a sense of purpose
- Validating the damage sustained by sufferers
- Acknowledging a medication-induced health condition
- Building a sense of camaraderie so sufferers, supporters and their loved ones do not feel alone
Early Registration for this event is $15 per participant or $20 day of. Update: The downtown Torrington, CT Staples has sponsored the event, so the registration fees have been waived.
