RETIRED
Thank you for your efforts, Meredith!
Meredith has retired from active involvement in World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day. W-BAD is incredibly grateful for her contributions, integrity, kindness and consideration. Thank you, Meredith!
Formerly an entrepreneur and owner at Che Dolce, Meredith worked as a marriage and family therapist. Having trained as a dual-diagnosis substance abuse counselor, she holds a certification from the NCGPA in group dynamic psychotherapy and contributed to phase 1 research efforts investigating the biological mechanism behind positive persistent visual disturbances at the University of California, San Francisco.
Now retired from active involvement, Meredith was heavily involved in helping get W-BAD off the ground during the initial years. She set up the initial W-BAD Facebook page and the initial W-BAD Shop to help get the word out, and came up with many creative ideas such as running a raffle to garner Facebook likes and much more.
Meredith was instrumental in having W-BAD’s awareness ribbon designed to resemble a “wave” (representing the “waves,” or the periods of intensifying symptoms, seen in benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome).
She also helped with fundraising efforts on Holly Hardman’s groundbreaking documentary As Prescribed. This documentary film project examines the global benzodiazepine epidemic as it follows the journeys of several individuals harmed by this iatrogenic illness.
Whenever possible, Meredith has continued to work with Geraldine Burns doing benzodiazepine advocacy work and plans to initiate efforts to bring legislative reform to her own state of California.

On behalf of W-BAD, thank you so much Meredith. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Wishing you well always!
