One of the simplest ways to observe World Benzo Day!
W-BAD’s Profile Picture Campaign
One of the easiest ways to get involved and spread awareness on July 11th is to participate in W-BAD’s Profile Picture Campaign.
Participation is as simple as changing your profile picture on your social media accounts to the W-BAD logo. We have provided some profile picture images below in many colors and designs for you to choose from. Feel free to also get creative and design your own!
Your social media contacts may inquire as to what ‘World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day’ represents. Be prepared to answer their questions and provide them relevant information in order to educate the otherwise unaware public about iatrogenic benzodiazepine risks and dangers.
You might even wish to include your own story or links to some important benzodiazepine educational information above your new profile image so that the information is already there and readily available alongside the image.
Facebook Frames
Similar to the profile pictures, you can also add a ‘frame’ to your existing picture on Facebook to show your support for and participation in W-BAD
- Go to the profile picture frame feature
- Put ‘World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day: W-BAD’ in the ‘Search’ feature
- Select the profile picture frame you would like to add
- Click Use as Profile Picture to save
The following is one of the many frames that are available and will sit over your profile picture (across the bottom of it, leaving the top portion of the profile picture exposed above it)
W-BAD’s Official Awareness Ribbon
W’BAD’s official “awareness ribbon” is here! Healing from benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome is a non-linear phenomenon. This ribbon was therefore designed to represent the periods of more intense/increasing suffering in benzodiazepine withdrawal—which are referred to as “waves” (“windows” is the term used to describe the periods of reprieve or lessening of symptoms/suffering). The blue, teal, and white ombre design signifies those “waves” (much like an ocean wave) and also incorporates W-BAD’s main color teal into the design. Many people who are suffering from benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome prefer to view these “waves” as a sign of healing and repair where the increase in symptoms to them means the brain and nervous system are recalibrating and seeking “baseline”—”baseline” being how they were prior to developing iatrogenic dependence to, damage and withdrawal from benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepine sufferers must ride these “waves” with the same courage and perseverance that they have been cultivating throughout as they bravely journey through the sometimes very painful withdrawal from these very dangerous and damaging drugs.
The awareness ribbon can be shared around on social media (or whever you’d like to share it) and is also available as a Facebook frame.
